I moved to California in 1971, and except for a brief move to Ohio in 1979/80, I've been here now for 49 years, almost 50.  I'm staying here.

unique achievement

In 1997 I ran for City Council in Redlands, CA.  10 people ran, for 3 openings.  Somebody had to come in 10 th.  Oh, that was me!  I think I had 661 votes!

standout event

On 9-11-2018 I fell.  When the paramedics broke into my apartment to get me (I couldn't get to the door), one of them asked me if I knew what day it was.  I didn't, so I didn't say anything dumb!  I spent 4 days in ICU, then 3 weeks in Rehab.  I still can't walk without my wheelie walker.  I'm used to it.  Physical Therapy doesn't help.  When I'm standing, I get dizzy.  But, I can drive.  Go figure.
Paramedic asked why I fell.  I don't know.

unforgettable trip

I've covered 49 States (no trip to Alaska yet), and 9 Provinces.  All except Hawaii by car.
