Where have you been? and what have you been doing? - - - family, school, career, pastimes, good times, etc.

In short, discovered drugs, sex, and rock 'n roll when I went to Ohio University after high school, flunked out, and ran away for the Summer of Love in San Francisco. I was a relatively good girl in high school but I made up for it quickly! Moved to Boston in June, '68 and met my first husband in August. We saved each others' lives, found our callings, and when Max graduated law school in '77, we moved to Topeka, KS for five years. Ha! Lived in KS until 2014. We had two kids, Max had two liver transplants, and died in 1994. I remarried in 1999. We moved to SoCal when my daughter had twins in 2014. My son and his partner moved here too! I love it here with mountains in my backyard. I've been an activist all my life starting back in 7th grade with civil rights work. Now retired, I spend my time between my five granddaughters and working my butt off for every progressive cause that needs me.

unique achievement

My work my whole life has reflected my values of helping people, especially women. I finally went back to college and graduated with a BSW in 2006. Got my MSW in 2007. I had a therapy practice until we moved to CA.

standout event

I love every kind of music (except opera) and adore going to concerts! I think I've seen every musician and band I've ever wanted to. Still love it but miss going since the pandemic. One of my coping techniques has been to watch old concerts on YouTube.

You’ve come a long way in 55 years. Where are you going in the next five years?

I've been an optimist and believing in the good in people all my life but the last years have threatened my core beliefs. I hope to spend the years I have left enjoying the granddaughters and working towards leaving them a world with climate change under control, gun safety a norm, a woman's right over her body a given, and less suffering throughout the globe. Oh, and I hope to be going to some more concerts!
