After graduation I attended
"The Ohio State University" for a year. At that point
I got married to John Poss of Class of 1965. After graduating from
OSU he accepted a job at Hewlett-Packard and we moved to Colorado
Springs in 1970.
I had two daughters and strangely enough both of my daughters have
had two daughters. I stayed home with the kids until they were
in school. I parted ways with John and then went back to
college to get a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer
Science.
In 1983 I took a job with Digital equipment as a Software Support
Specialist. I solved programming errors or issues for external
customers on several Operating Systems offered by Digital.
After a few years I became a System Manager and supported
internal customers with their problems. I spent so much time
training our employees I discovered I really liked teaching. I
then took a position in the Training department. I developed several
classes teaching employees how to use the operating systems and
software that they used. While working at Digital I went back to
college and received my Masters of Arts degree in Education with an
emphasis in Computing Technologies from the University of Colorado.
While working for Digital I met and then married my current
husband Steve Bittrolff.
I did come back to Ohio for the 20 year reunion but never attended
any of the other reunions. Following getting my Master's degree I
accepted a position as a full time Adjunct Professor. I worked
as a professor and then moved into the position of Chair of the
Computer Science Department at Colorado Technical University.
Worked there until I retired in 2013. I am now enjoying traveling
and the free time to read and work on some stained glass projects.
I now have four granddaughters and have enjoyed watching them
grow up. Hopefully this pandemic will end and we can all get
back to doing what we want and for me that is traveling.
We had planned to go to Iceland this week to hopefully view the
Northern Lights but the CDC flagged them as a level 4 risk (highest
risk level) and we have postponed that trip. Will have to put that
back on our Bucket list until it is safe to travel again.
